Why The Algarve?

Arguably the best weather in continental Europe.

Around 300 days of sunshine a year. Mild winters. Long, bright summers. The Algarve makes a persuasive case for taking life outside: breakfast on the terrace, a walk by the water, one more hour before heading home.

The weather changes the holiday.

When spending time outdoors comes easily, the whole day opens up. A beach walk becomes lunch by the water. A sightseeing afternoon ends at a terrace table. The sunshine is part of the experience, wherever the day takes you.

A coastline with choices.

Explore the Algarve’s cliff-backed coves and long sandy shores. Around Faro, the landscape opens into the Ria Formosa’s lagoons and barrier islands, with boat trips and beaches that invite you to linger.

Go beyond the beach.

Make time for the region’s towns, markets and walking trails. Mix a day by the sea with an afternoon in Tavira or Olhão. There is plenty to enjoy when your ideal holiday involves more than a sun lounger.

Find a season that suits you.

Summer brings beach days and warm evenings. The dry air and ocean breeze keep the hot sun pleasant. Spring and autumn are inviting for wandering and exploring. Winter has plenty of sun but cooler evenings and fewer tourists. There are good reasons to come back in a different month.

Now choose your corner of it.

For us, it’s Faro: a city with its own daily rhythm, an old town to explore and the Ria Formosa on its doorstep.
